The company has also diversified into other fruit seedlings, including grapes, dragon fruits, peaches, apricots, nectarines, and other adaptable varieties suited to local growing conditions.
What we grow?
At the heart of the business is the registered Wambugu Apple variety, a fast-maturing, high-yielding apple that begins fruiting within 9-11 months and thrives in warm climates where traditional apples fail. The variety has been recognized by the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and is widely adopted by farmers, schools, and commercial orchards.
Expanding beyond cultivation, Wambugu Apple has invested in value addition through a growing range of freeze-dried fruits, offering longer shelf life, enhanced nutrition, and new market potential for African-grown fruits. These premium products are tailored for retail, hospitality, and export markets, contributing to food security and reducing post-harvest losses.
